Garbage Disposal Installation
Garbage disposal installation is no major science although it requires some plumbing and electrical skills. However, before starting to install it is recommendable to check the dimensions of the disposal unit again to make sure it fits under your kitchen sink. You will need an outlet under the sink and if not having one yet you are highly recommended to leave over the job to a licensed electrician. And the most important rule you need to follow before starting garbage disposal installation is to turn off the electrical circuit.
To install garbage disposal you need to remove the existing disposal unit or the waste trap and sink strainer but make sure you have bucket and some towers at hand. When you remove all the required pieces you simply follow the instructions of the manufacturer starting by installation of the upper mounting assembly to hold the disposal unit in place, connecting the power cord to the disposal unit, connecting the dishwasher drain, positioning of the unit under the mounting assembly and connecting the drain lines. When you put everything in its place turn the power back on and test your new garbage disposal.
Installation of garbage disposal is relatively easy task and can be easily done on one own but it is highly important to be very careful while connecting the disposal unit to power.
